This is a nice little GA campground that is a wonderful place to set back a relax. It fills up on weekends and there is not much of anything to do at the campground except relax, fish, walk or bike. The TV reception is not good and no cable so bring your DISH or some DVD's if your into TV. You are about 11 miles from Waycross which has everything and anything you would want from WallyWorld to movie houses and a Mall. If we are in the area again we would stay here. Just a note here the State has picked a few campgrounds that had swimming pools to close them this year and to bad this is one of the parks that has closed the pool so the kids will have no place to swim or play in the water during the HOT summer months.

This is a typical Georgia State Park. Sites are spread out enough to give you some cushion bewteen sites. Some sites are larger than others, and there are some really great sites here and there. About 5 sites are near the rivers edge with a nice breeze coming in from the river. The CG is covered by a pine forest and a good layer of grass. Some direct sun here and there but enough shade throughout. Some pull through sites, but most others are easy enough to get into. Armadillos sneak around at night on the outer edge of the campground. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and are fairly new. A small playground in the main loop and a large elevated feild suitable for a volleyball net or tossing a football or frisbee. A boat ramp beside the park at the Crooked River. Miniture golf and day use areas of the park are a good distance from the campground. About a 15 minute drive to Downtown St. Marys and the ferry to Cumberland Island. Areas of concern: the dreaded sand gnat will eat you alive.

Do you want to step back into time? Then this is for you. Everything is like it was back in the 50's. We loved it for the weekend. None of those modern things like swimming pools, game rooms, spas just ocean and relaxation. We walked the beach for miles and let the Chi Dog run free, very few people on the beach. The only draw back is you have to stop and wash the salt spray of the coach. The wife says we will go back again when we are in the area.

This is a REAL campground. Dirt roads, pine needles, mud when it rains, nice folks, great walking and biking areas and close to the historic area. The laundry according to the DW is great it even has ironing boards and irons. It is on an island and if you leave the island you have to re-pay $3 to get back on. Nice place. We will stay again if in the area.

This is a nice older park, about 4 miles from I-10 with friendly staff (but they are not forthcoming with information). The campground is on a river with good fishing. The interior roads need to be graded (they are dirt). Sites need to be leveled (they are basically grass) but it's an okay place for a couple of days. There is not much to do in town. There are the Florida Caverns to visit, they are interesting and total trip to the caverns, the tour and walk around the place and back to the campgrounds should take about 3 hours. There is also a fun place about 15 minute drive called “Blue Springs” it is a cold water springs but for $2 a person it is a great place to visit and swim, did I mention the water is cold? A place not far a way is “Falling Waters” it is another state park and when the waterfalls have water coming over it, it is very nice. The weather has been dry so the day we were there it was not flowing. If passing through and needing a place to stay, we would stay again but this is not a destination park or resort. The campground did not offer any actives for the 4th of July and the campers were on their own to find fireworks and entertainment. We camped here for a week July 4th of 2007.

This is one of the friendliest RV parks that we've been in, if you are an adult. The guy that takes you to the site told me that the site they gave me was too small for and TOO hard to get into with the 34’TT, so called the office and got me a pull through site. Later the grand kids told me that some of the adults had hassled them about being in the “ADULT AREA” of the CG. There are mostly seasonal sites, very few overnight or weekenders spots. The roads are narrow, 2 cars cannot pass each other & the speed bumps don't help, the shower houses are not that nice and could use remodeling to bring them out of the 1950’s. The park is old and shows it, but is nice enough for a short stay (1-5 DAYS). There are 2 RV dealers close by so getting parts or repairs should be easy. I would stay there again if in that part of Orlando.

This is our forth time staying at the park. Each time has been great and we have never been harassed by the sales staff. The park is clean and well kept with a great staff, but the grass is getting a little tall (the CHI) almost got lost at the end of the leash in the tall grass. Breakfast is going down hill, and lunch was not that great but the food is free and the eating area is clean. I do not think I would ever buy an RV from the dealership, just watching how many have to bring them back for repairs. But the CG is a great place.

This is a new CG in the city of Williston, Florida. According to the website they are up and running with all the pools, ponds, waterfalls, buildings and restrooms ready to camp as of this last October 31, 2005....NOT. There about 80 sites that can be backed into, the restrooms and laundry and are still under construction as of Vet Day 2005. There is no pool, building, waterfalls, or anything else really. If you make reservations the only sites that are built is the 400. The remainder are still a dream. There is not much to do in the town either, the best eating place is owned by the campground owner (the food is good). Ocala is 30 minute drive and Gainsville is about the same. The place seems to be run by a kid (23) and his girlfriend that did not know that there was no site 300 at this time. I reserved the site #300 3 weeks ahead and they never bothered to let me know that the reservation map is a dream of what is to be, but they sent me a confirmation for site #300. It has not been built yet, the property has not even been cleared for it yet. IF THEY EVER DO GET THIS PLACE BUILT (MAYBE 2 YEARS) we will go back and post another review that we hope will be very positive. But for now it is a waste of time. PS there is also a monster Railroad that comes through next to the campground and it is real loud. See you in 2 years to see what has changed. I am sorry for the poor review at this time.

The park is really for kids. The Tornado Waterslide has kids zooming down the slide for the fastest ride ever!!! They end up in a swimming lake, they also have boats, mini-golf (in bad shape) and train rides. There are alot of kid activities. The place is just off the the freeway I-10 and about 6 miles from Madison, Florida, a nice little town. The draw back is that the park charges for everthing. A $10.00 a weekend wristband lets you do it all, this 1st visit for a weekend ran me $132 for 5 grandkids and the wife and me. It is nice enough and several of the campers have been back to this park many times. I might stay again if in the area.
